Bed Bath and Table Outlet Store

by RosieRose on November 4, 2012

Last Friday I found myself at the Bed Bath and Table outlet in Melbourne’s Brunswick….

Well I found myself in the area and couldn’t stop my car from swerving left and parking itself. So what do you do?

You shop..that’s what you do…..

I’m a sucker for pretty homewares and linens……. and I don’t have to tell you that I just loves me a discount……

I entered the store with a plan…….. I would look at the bed linens of which I have an almost need for and I would not touch the last year Christmas decoration stock that I could’ve sworn was singing “Come o yea faithful” to me.

But the singing became louder and when I saw the huge reductions sign I was all over that clearance table like flies at a picnic..

All individual decorations were marked down to $2. In previous years I was able to grab them for 50c each but it depends on what time of year you are there and how old the stock is…. Phew I didn’t need any so no temptations there……

But then I spied this sign:

Merry Christmas

And clearly (as you might recognise my kitchen bench in the background) I snapped it up.
This Vintage looking metal mantle sign originally marked at $59  I scored for $4…………

The singing continues……….”Joyful and Triumphant…”

Yes it’s kinda warped on the right but Mr RR has since used some muscle and has bent this baby back into shape in no time…

Next up I found a beautiful set of 4 embroidered napkins…… guess how much? Um $1…….. for 4 that is!!!!!

“Come ye oh come ye….”

I also couldn’t pass up a $2 packet of 12 wooden Christmas tags and the only two little ceramic owl hanging decorations ($2 each) which if do not end up on my tree most certainly would be cute Christmas pressies for my children’s teachers…

The place was full to the brim of lovely bed linen but by now I was feeling pretty woozie with both delight and shame at buying Christmas gear I really didn’t need that I started for the door…

However I remembered this place has a basket of $2 oddments and samples under one of the tables. And a quick whip through the basket scored me a lovely white towel and a beautiful pillow case for Mr 4′s room…

So another $4 down but feeling good nonetheless (I think I might have been up to the $15 mark by now – lunchmoney gone) I threw the bargains into my santa sack and made a run for it lest that singing started up again….

Great finds Rosie! I scored some beautiful glass Christmas ornaments at the start of the year from Freedom and can’t wait to get them out for Christmas! xx

Nice blog entry. The school teacher in me thinks you’re becoming quite the writer! I need to come shopping with you some time. I miss all the good bargains but love everything you buy. (Actually, I did buy some muted yellow things and some grey ish white thongs from Target today for $4 each but they aren’t really a “find”. While I really like them and they will be well worth their price, they are always hanging cheaply and cheerfully in Target for all to buy. No great bargain spotting there!)
By the way, we have ordered our window coverings. Couldn’t decide between white or timber shutters, so…… White sheer roller blinds with dark tobacco brown full coverage roller blinds in front….. Best of both worlds! Cross your fingers for me. I have made a mistakes with window coverings before. Ahhh!!!
Jackie (Alysha’s Mummy B….have you seen those braces? She looks sooooo cute!)

Even if it’s a hanging for all to see its still a bargain… Although I am not sure what the muted yellow things could be.. Infact I’m a little intrigued. I probably need you as my proof reader.. Please feel free to correct me for my bad English ..although half the time it’s the damn predictive text that thinks it knows what I want to say and makes me look silly. Fingers crossed for your blinds cant wait to see the pictures …. Oh am yet to see the braces in person but saw them in a picture.. :)
Thanks again for continuing to drop by.
